Extremely Fast Weight Loss – Diet Safety Myth
Is extremely fast weight loss unsafe?
Most nutritionists, dietitians, and medical practitioners will attest to this fact.
Or is it just a myth?
However, what they fail to do is to qualify that assertion by stating that extremely fast weight loss sustained over long periods of time is unsafe.
Take for instance, the Calorie Shifting diet. This is an example of a diet that, if followed properly, can help you lose weight rapidly, at the alarming rate of nearly one pound per day. It is not impossible for someone following this diet to lose approximately 20 pounds per month.
However, the Calorie Shifting diet mitigates the risks and adverse effects of extremely fast weight loss in two ways:
1. The diet itself consists of a healthy balance of foods from all four food groups. In other words, you do eat plentiful foods from the meat / poultry, fruits / vegetables, breads, and dairy food groups over the course of this diet.

During these 3 days, you are allowed to eat anything you want without following a prescribed diet plan. This effectively stabilizes your body’s rapid weight loss, not to mention it’s a great motivator to stay on the diet, knowing that you get to reward yourself every other weekend for successfully losing weight. In the 11 day period leading up to your 3 day break, you can expect to lose approximately 9 pounds.
