postheadericon Simple Weight Loss Diet Plan – The Calorie Shifting Diet

Are you looking for a simple weight loss diet plan? There are many approaches to weight loss. There are diets out there that are based on reducing calories. There are diets out there that are based on reducing fat. There are diets out there that are based on reducing carbohydrates. What do Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers, and the Atkins diet all have in common? Each one of these types of diets all have one thing in common:

They all require you to cut back on something. Each diet plan has its own merits and can yield tangible weight loss results over time, yet because each of the diets requires you to sacrifice, many people end up throwing in the towel because the magnitude of the short-term sacrifice required is not worth the long-term benefits, not to mention the fact that these diets are not intended to work well as lifetime choices.

One alternative to these reduction diets is what is known as The Calorie-Shifting diet. The emphasis of this highly effective yet simple weight loss diet plan is on changing what you eat when, not how much you eat. This simple diet plan allows you to eat comfortably from each of the food groups for four meals a day. The difference is that you may only eat certain types of foods at certain times of the day. Your menu also varies on a daily basis.

In so doing, you are triggering a metabolic response from your body that results in rapid weight loss. You do not feel deprived of any foods. You feel satisfied as you eat. Plus you are eating a healthy balance of every food group.

The simplicity of the diet speaks for itself. Here are a few simple rules to follow the calorie shifting diet properly and thus achieve the rapid weight loss results you desire:

1. Eat as much food at each meal as you want from each of the four food groups until you feel satisfied.

2. Eat four full meals per day.

3. Shift your calories so that each meal contains only certain types of calories.

The calorie shifting diet is more than a theory. It is a bona fide diet plan that comes with a structured meal plan.

postheadericon Diet Plans For Me – 2 Men Diets For Losing Weight, Gaining Muscle and Toning Up

Diet plans for men are not that different from those of women. They are the same except men are more interested in gaining more muscle than women who mostly want to lose weight and tone up. Men diets tend to focus on weight loss and gaining muscle at the same time. This is a good idea but not all diets can guide you to lose weight and gain muscle. Some men diets only focus on helping you lose weight. As a man who is overweight, you may want to gain some muscle or get some abs after you lose weight. What are these weight loss diet plans for men?

2 Diet Plans For Men

The first men diet plan is called Turbulence Training which has been around for a while now. Turbulence training is a workout program that involves a combination of resistance training , body weight exercises, and interval training that is used for metabolism so that your body burns calories and fat between workouts. This program has a diet generator to make sure you are on a healthy diet while you are working out to lose weight. This can be a perfect program for men who want to lose weight and gain serious muscle. Turbulence training weight loss program is also not friendly to everyone. The reason being it involves intense workouts that can overwhelm an individual who has never been to the gym. It is expensive too as you can end up spending almost hundred dollars for the deluxe edition. Turbulence training is more focused on working out than dieting, this can be a bad thing for men who want only diet or do simple exercises at home and while dieting.

Another men diet plan I really like is called Strip That Fat Diet. This program is the best if your goal to lose weight and gain muscle is through dieting. How can someone gain muscle by just dieting?, Eating the right diet that speeds up your metabolism to burn calories can help you lose weight and at the same time gain muscle. This program can work for any man and is user friendly. You don’t have to do intense workouts like those in turbulence training. It has a diet generator tool that can help you create your own diets. This guide cannot lead you into starvation. Strip that fat covers the importance of exercising to lose weight fast and it also recommends the right exercises to do when you are on a diet. You can lose weight with this diet while enjoying the most delicious foods from the diet menu. A men diet plan like this one best fits individuals who have never been to the gym, guys who want to lose weight by mostly dieting, those who don’t want to starve in order to lose some weight and they want to enjoy eating while losing weight. This program is affordable too compared to many diet programs that cost hundreds of dollars. Therefore, strip that fat program is the best men diet plan I recommend.

These two diet plans for men I recommend will both teach you the healthy ways to lose weight. None of them will recommend you to take diet pills in order to lose weight. Diet pills and starvation are both unhealthy ways of losing weight. These men diets are suited for individuals who are serious about losing weight or burning excess fat and toning up. postheadericon Sacred Heart Memorial Hospital Diet – A Review

The Sacred Heart Memorial Hospital Diet (also known as the Sacred Heart Diet) is another of those diets which, like the Tuna Fish Diet, is attributed to hospital staff who were attempting to reduce the weight of a cardiac patient by some 10 lbs. It has been around since at least the 1980’s and takes the form of a vegetable soup which is consumed, along with a few other foods, over a period of seven days.

Intending users should be aware that the origin of this plan is uncertain. Hospitals have denied being the source, as have other institutions that have been nominated as likely creators, including the American Heart Association.

Nonetheless, the diet continues to be circulated and has adherents who are happy to use it, along with others who were skeptical or did not find it useful. This soup diet is also known as the Cleveland Clinic Diet, the Cabbage Soup Diet, and the Spokane Heart Diet. I have found reports from users who state that they were introduced to it by their medical practitioner.

The dieter is expected to eat the soup at least once a day and, at various times, meats, rice, vegetables and fruit may be included in the eating plan. Excluded are bread and alcohol. Included are Chicken Noodle Soup, stewed tomatoes, beef broth, celery and more. The only drinks permitted are water, black coffee, cranberry juice (unsweetened) and skimmed milk. A detailed outline of this plan can be found with a quick search for my article “Sacred Heart Memorial Hospital Diet – Recipe and Diet Plan”.

EFFECTS:

1. The Sacred Heart Memorial Hospital Diet is essentially a low calorie, short term diet, with the difficulties typical of such a plan, such as dizziness, lack of energy, occasional diarrhea and sometimes fainting.

2. Short term weight loss is often water loss rather than fat loss and is easily regained once the diet has ended.

3. The body tends to conserve energy and fat reserves with low calorie diets. This makes it harder for lasting weight loss to occur.

4. There are reports of significant amounts of weight reduction but the feelings of hunger and discomfort caused by this diet plan make it likely the user will eat excessively after the seven days of restricted eating. Thus the amount of weight that has been lost will soon be regained.

5. A change in eating habits is not required except for the seven day period of the diet. This means that the benefits are unlikely to continue as returning to the same conditions as before will soon restore whatever has been lost.

To obtain lasting weight loss requires, in effect, a change of lifestyle – a different selection of foods as part of the normal diet rather than a crash program that adds stress to the body and provides only short term benefits. Such a plan would include food that has high nutritional value and suits the tastes and preferences of the dieter. As well, a significant portion of the weight that has been lost should be fat loss and not merely water which is easily replaced. Unfortunately, the Sacred Heart Memorial Hospital Diet does not meet these requirements.

postheadericon Low Carb Diet Tips: How to Fight Intestinal Problems Easily – Part I

Diseases such as constipation and diarrhea are not uncommon. They happen to everybody, especially when you go for a major change of diet, such as switching from a high carb to a low carb diet. Diarrhea happens mostly to low carbers because when you are on a low carb diet, your body produces fewer carbohydrates and more ketones. Low carbers also suffer from constipation. However, it should be noted that constipation doesn’t stem directly from a low carb diet regimen. In fact, constipation is caused when your body receives less than the required amount of carbohydrates. Foods such as legumes, pulses and whole grains contain a lot of fiber but unfortunately, these foods are strictly prohibited during the early periods of the low carb program. In this article I will tell you how to fight back constipation and diarrhea and regain your normal health.

How to Fight Constipation:

Let me tell you one thing upfront: if your previous diet was full of sugar and starchy foods, it would take sometime before you can adjust yourself to a low carb diet. However, constipation is not directly associated with low carb diet. In fact, it is a different kind of a problem, and can be caused by a combination of problems. Most commonly, constipation is caused because of fiber deficiency. To give your body the required amount of fiber, you need to eat fresh fruits and vegetables. Also drink lots of water every day. And never ever buy over-the-counter pills, especially pain-killers, codeine and other opiates, as well as antidepressants, iron pills and diuretics. These drugs have certain ingredients in them which cause constipation.

If you want to cure constipation permanently, laxatives won’t help either. It is OK to use laxatives for a short time, but for long term I would use a stool softener such as Docusate, which are non-addictive and easily absorbed in the body.

Another way to cure constipation is to eat fiber supplements such as sugar-free Metamucil, or plain psyllium husks, which will force the bowel to move forward. Note however that you should eat this fiber supplement only with water; otherwise it will have negative effects on your body.

Another way to cure constipation is to do exercises regularly. Because when you do exercises, your whole body starts moving, and consequently, your bowel too starts moving! You can also practice yoga as it has been found to be helpful for constipation patients.

In the second part of this article, I will tell you how to cure diarrhea and irritable bowel syndrome (ibs), as well as how to find good low carb food products. To access the second part, simply click on the link in my resource box below.

postheadericon Cantaloupe Diet: The Secret To A Healthy You!

Cantaloupes, or more popularly muskmelons, are one of the most popular varieties of melons in the United States. For people who are conscious of extra calories but have an affinity towards tasty stuff, cantaloupes form the perfect choice for their palette. The refreshingly rich flavor and aroma of cantaloupes can hardly fail to tickle the taste buds of a food lover.

The cantaloupe has its origin in the Italian papal village of Cantaloupe, where it was first cultivated around 1700 A.D. Hailing from the same family of Cucurbitaceae, cantaloupes grow on the ground with the support of a trailing vine. Cantaloupes have a ribless rind with a distinctive netted skin and hence it’s also called ‘netted melon’. Inside the melon, there is a hollow cavity containing seeds encased in a web of netting. Rockmelon is also another popular name of cantaloupes.

The health benefits of cantaloupes are innumerable. An excellent source of vitamin A on account of its concentrated beta-carotene content, cantaloupes are responsible for reducing the risk of developing cataracts to around 39%. Reports suggest that cantaloupes are more beneficial than carrots for our eyes. Beta-carotene has also been the subject of extensive research in relationship to cancer prevention and prevention of oxygen-based damage to cells. The benefits of cantaloupes are not confined within this. Being a good source of Vitamin C, potassium, vitamin B6, dietary fiber, folate, and niacin (vitamin B3), along with its fiber, cantaloupes lend an efficient support to the body by allowing good carbohydrate metabolism and blood sugar stability. Besides, recent researches held at various renowned universities as the Kansas University has suggested that consumption of cantaloupes may reduce the risk of lung cancer in passive smokers.

Without doubt, cantaloupes are one of the healthiest of all foods. So including them in our daily diet would be one of the healthiest choices to make. But this does not mean that our diet would monotonous. There are a wide variety of cantaloupe recipes that can really tickle our taste buds. Cantaloupe is normally eaten as a fresh fruit, as a salad, or as a dessert with ice cream or custard. Melon pieces wrapped in prosciutto are a familiar modern antipasto. A world-renowned chef describes the charentais variety: “the orange, sugary and fragrant flesh makes this fruit popular both as a dessert or main course. These have smooth gray-green rinds and very fragrant orange flesh. It keeps well when stored in a cool, dry place and ripens after several days in a warm room.” It’s essential to choose the right cantaloupe while shopping. Choose a melon that is heavy for its size with a sweet but not over-powering smell and no soft spots. If it is ripe, store it in the refrigerator – just be sure to seal it tightly since cantaloupes can take on the odors of nearby foods. If it is a bit hard or green, store it at room temperature until it is ripe. These little tips are helpful to let you enjoy the natural taste of cantaloupes and its wide array of recipes.

Cantaloupes thus combine within themselves the key to health and taste. Low in fats and rich in essential vitamins and minerals, they are just the ideal food for all fitness freaks. So, just reach out and make cantaloupes an essential part of your daily diet.

postheadericon Hospital 3 Day Diet – Birmingham Hospital Diet Review

The Hospital 3 Day Diet, which is also known as the Birmingham Hospital Diet, has become popular due to claims that the diet was created as a means of enabling patients intended for surgery to lose up to 10 lbs in weight over a period of three days. Other sources attribute the origin of this diet plan to the University of Alabama.

It should be noted that these institutions do not make that claim and do not accept any responsibility towards those who follow the diet.

Notwithstanding the uncertainty of its origins, there is little doubt that this simple diet plan has become widespread and that many people have used it, often coming across the weight loss strategy under one of its many names. Apart from the Hospital 3 Day Diet, it is also known as Alabama 3 Day Diet, 3 day Tuna Diet, Tuna Fish Diet, 3 Day Cardiac Diet, and others.

The content of these weight loss diet plans is very similar and will here be treated as essentially the same.

A key element of the Hospital 3 Day Diet is that it contains a low daily calorie level of about 1,000 calories with specified ingredients to provide the protein, carbohydrates, fat (very little) and other nutrients that we need to survive. For a full description of the menu plan, do a quick search for my article “3 Day Tuna Fish Diet – Menu and Diet Plan”.

In brief, the plan outlines the foods to be included for breakfast, lunch and dinner over a three day period.

There are many reports of weight reduction from those who have followed the diet. The amount of claimed weight lost during that time varies, as might be expected with so many differing metabolisms and food requirements being involved. However, a minimum weight reduction of at least 2.5 lbs does seem attainable and likely.

Much of the weight loss from a diet of such a short duration probably comes from water loss. As well, with a calorie count of about 1,000 this would be well below normal requirements for most adults, so energy expended would also account for some of the loss.

However, whilst not a ’starvation diet’, the Birmingham Hospital Diet is likely to generate user problems if continued beyond the recommended 3 days. For instance, it is normal for our bodies to make adjustments when a food shortage is detected. This is a survival mechanism which protects us when little food is available, as in times of famine. The body slows metabolism and conserves fat stores to enable us to survive longer with less food. This actually makes it harder to lose weight, we have less energy and tire more easily. Not a satisfactory long term condition!

Although there may be some short-term loss advantage, the feelings of hunger experienced by the end of the diet encourage extra food intake after the diet has been completed. A better alternative is a program that does not produce a craving for food, does not cause the body to slow its activities, and takes into account nutritional requirements so that changes in eating habits would allow fat loss to happen over a longer period and be lasting.

Rather than following a simple, low calorie diet plan, losing weight over an extended period allows other tactics to be employed in the plan, such as ‘calorie shifting’, placing greater emphasis on fat loss and adequate nutrition. This is more likely in the long run to provide health benefits and sustainable weight loss.

postheadericon How can I lose weight for a college student?

babypht0524 asked:
I’m a 20 year old female thats 5′7” 160 lbs. All the fat is around my waist(love handles and tummy). I am planning on taking summer courses in my college for june and july and want to lose 30 lbs then. I have hypothyroid so it is difficult to lose weight but I feel like if I don’t lose it now I will just get bigger. I can’t eat red meat and I want to actually feel full when I eat. I signed up for 14 meals a week. Please give me advice on a good meal and exercise plan for me. Thanks!

postheadericon Personal Review of Diet Protein Shakes

I would like to share some information about Kashi protein shakes. After some research and admittedly a short personal test, I found these shakes to be a good addition to most any weight loss program. Currently, you may find many protein powders are designed primarily for bodybuilders. Opposing that view, Kashi designed their protein shakes with weightloss and dieting in mind. Kashi’s GoLean program is unique in that aspect because of its propensity to assist and magnify diet plans and weight loss programs.

I found that the GoLean Slimming Plan with protein powders included is as much a weight management program as anything. The ingredients used in the shake powders make it stand out from most others. The Kashi powders are created without the addition of highly refined sugars. A few more positives for the health conscious include the lack of artificial flavors or sweeteners, hydrogenated oils, or preservatives. Not to mention these shakes are 99 percent fat free.

And yet another plus for weight management programs is the natural high fiber content inherent to these shake powders- both chocolate and vanilla. Its fiber content makes it an excellent addition to a high fiber diet or a low fat diet.

I think it should be mentioned that although this article mainly speaks to the diet and weightloss impact these shakes provide, they can also be used as a food snack. I say that mainly because of their healthy low fat, high fiber content and zero saturated fat and trans fat. Plus it contains a decent amount of daily required vitamins.

Usage is a bit vague, but generally suggested that one drink replacing lunch is common. It is no more costly than any other common protein powder on the market and Kashi products are becoming more and more visible at local grocery stores. That is something that cannot be said about most other protein powder shakes. Mixing a shake can be done as all the others- just pour the powder in to a glass of soy milk, fat free milk or water and stir. If you have ever mixed any other protein drink before, you might have guessed that the kashi drinks also mix better in a blender.

I must acknowledge the manufacturer’s warning as follows: If you are nursing, pregnant or think you may be pregnant in the near future, you should speak to a physician prior to consuming this product.

My final conclusion is a thumbs up for the dieters looking to add another supplement to their weight management program. The soy protein base in GoLean Slimming Plan shakes helps you maintain a feeling of being full. Although it is not billed as a meal supplement, that is how I used both the chocolate and vanilla Kashi protein shakes and found them satisfactory.
